Conversations with Ordinary people about Amazing experiences

TBF 05 The Val’s day special

The topic for this week’s episode,  “why we love to  hate Valentine’s day” was presented by the 1walktogetherblog.com
1walktogetherblog.com is a collection of bloggers who write about love and life and their experiences as young Christians.
There are some amazing writers and some very interesting discussions on topics  ranging from how cheese balls are a suitable replacement for a relationship,  to why one of the writer’s friends believe she is emotionally constipated.
My last post on there was regarding whether or not Love at first sight is really a thing.
Check them out at http://www.1walktogetherblog.com

We had a surprisingly sombre episode today,  talking about the meaning of Valentines day,  the meaning of Love and we touch on some rather personal topics.
Nancy Mills (@Nessence7 on twitter) joined us again after last week who provided a much needed female perspective to balance out the conversation.
We hope you enjoy the episode and if you do please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing, and if you don’t, please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing.

TBF 04 Fashion, Physical Attraction and whether or not a modern day Jesus would get shape-ups!

Welcome to the Blacksmith’s Furnace, for obvious reasons we’ll be talking about issues concerning love and romantic relationships throughout the month of February.

Kicking things off in what has been our largest gathering to date, and consequentially our noisiest, we are joined by Sarah Fynn of SarahFynn.com, Nancy Mills @nessence7 on twitter, AJ Taylor of ankarahouse.com & creator of the 1walktogetherblog.com and Diane Ade @diane.ade on instagram, we talk about Fashion, Physical Attraction and the extent to which these are relevant in a Christians ‘Love life’.
We also discuss, amongst a host of other topics, whether a modern day Jesus would get shape ups and live as extravagantly as some of our mega preachers do today.

We hope you enjoy the episode and if you do please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing, and if you don’t, please let us know in the comments and let your friends know by sharing.

TBF 03 The Creative’s Journey

We’ve been having so much fun recording the podcast “The Blacksmith’s Furnace”. I just wish to extend my sincere thanks to everyone that’s subscribed, shared, commented and listened to an episode. It really does mean alot.

It’s especially great because we’ve been learning from each other and, at the very least, for me I’m definitely growing and becoming better as the bible says iron sharpens iron(which was the reason we chose the name The Blacksmith’s Furnace in the first place).

In this week’s episode we are joined by Jemilea “PoeticJemz” Wisdom-Baako, and Jolade Olusanya. We talk about the various challenges we all face as creatives, we discuss art and its relevance to the Church and the state of artistry in Christendom at the moment.

As should be expected from us,we of course go off on a few tangents and discuss some loosely related sub topics but by the end of the podcast there were quite a few nuggets of wisdom dropped. One such nugget is a list of recommended books for your reading pleasure and also that might enhance your creative self. Here’s the list:

Imagine: a vision for Christians in the arts by Steve Turner
Letters to a young poet by Rainer Maria Rilke
The Prophet by Khalil Gibran
Steal like an Artist by Austin Kleon
The Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis
Ghana must go by Taiye Selasie
The Bible

I’ve actually already bought a couple of these off kindle since recording, so I hope you find them useful too, however, what books would you recommend for a young creative, or what books have most impacted you, let us know in the comments.

Anyway lastly, you can find more from Jemz at http://www.writerznscribez.com/  and for more from our resident Celebrity, Jolade check him out at http://www.jolade.com/

It lives!!! It lives!!!!

I wish I could honestly say that I’ve not been posting on here because of what I’m about to announce but while I have been busy working away at things, I really should have posted and kept the blog up to date.
But life should not be about the shoulda, woulda, coulda’s, (The Irony is real) and so in the hope of moving forward here’s the special announcement:

I’m going to be changing the description on the About Me page of the site.

Thanks for dropping by.

Oh sorry did I not say why? Well, because I’ve finally posted the first episode of the podcast I’ve been working on!!!

THE BLACKSMITH’S FURNACE IS FINALLY LIVEEEE!!!!

So for those that might not know, The Blacksmith’s Furnace is a weekly podcast brought to you by TheOrdinaryAmazing.com featuring Robert “Bobby” Amissah, Moses “museHH” Baako, Peter “bkpaf” Fynn, and a variety of special guests.
It’s a conversation about the different ways three, relatively young, guys navigate an increasingly secular world as Christians. We give our views on current issues, pop culture, and the random thoughts Bobby has a wealth of.

This project has been a pleasure to be working on and I’m especially thankful to my co-hosts for their continued and continuing commitment to the podcast.

I also finally get to give thanks to Mr Calvin A Turner the founder of Torra Media (Check him out on fb) for his inspired design of TheOrdinaryAmazing.com ‘s logo. He’s an incredibly talented designer and I strongly recommend his work for any of your digital marketing or design needs.

Finally, please check out the first episode of the podcast, it’s a conversation about the conversations we’re hoping to have on the podcast and what my aims and goals are for the podcast.

Thanks so much for stopping by, if you like the podcast, we literally have so much more coming, I, as always would love to hear from you so give us a shout in the comments and lastly,

Enjoy the show
