Surviving R.Kelly is quite possibly one of the most significant documentaries to hit the masses in recent times.
The topic of abuse, and predatory culture, and the attitudes that make such behaviour thrive has never been more relevant than it is now, and the awkward, difficult and uncomfortable conversations that need to be had are at least beginning to become more commonplace in our places of work and leisure.
In today’s conversation we of course also have a look at what the state of society is, how it got this way and maybe how we can steer it right. and just as i mentioned before , it wasn’t an easy conversation to have
Story time is back and Bobby A hits us with an interesting tale, of corporate error and what ends up being free products! and off the back of that we talk about when the right thing to do ins’t necessarily the only thing to do that isn’t wrong!
It’s a full furnace once more, and today Bobby has us discussing an issue he’s had on his mind for a while now.
The issue was more of an observation, and the observation was more of a suggestion that maybe the rise of the PC culture we find ourselves in now could have something to possibly do with the rise of the voice of the oppressed, specifically women, in today’s society.
This week the two Furnace member whose hearts aren’t as hard as their names discussed how to tell the difference between being blessed by God and being a beneficiary of someone being blessed by God, what it looks like to walk in the Will of God and the price of being a missionary.
The surest most impenetrable barrier to the truth, is presumption that you already have it!

In today’s episode Peter has some questions and after a failed attempt to catch Mo slipping the conversation centred on two main topics,
Which is more important, the ability to articulate good doctrine or the display of fruits that would be birthed from having good doctrine? and Is it worth challenging bad doctrine regardless of the risk of shaking the faith of an individual?
In the absence of Rob it was a good conversation reflecting on our own approach to finding the balance between good doctrine and good works.
If ever one should look back, let him / her do so to learn.
If ever one should look forward, let him / her do so to dream.
However, whatever one is to do let them not waste the moment they have right now!
Whilst Peter was off doing who knows what, Moses and Robert discussed whether Remembrance Day is outdated, whether the world will ever see another Holy War and how to reconcile God being loving in a world filled with so much hurt and pain.
For the most part, ask anyone what the one thing they would change in their past is and their answer would be, nothing, everything that’s happened thus far has led to who they are now and their happy with that. But Bobby A was having none of that today so we really do try to delve into things that we would actually change if we were given the ability to do so. Bobby also had a couple of episodes of not doing what God had told him to do and seeing God do it through someone else so he also brought that up with hopes we’d help him feel better about it. Spoiler alert, we don’t.
