TBF 235 Sensitive Censorship

Welcome to another episode of the Blacksmith’s Furnace, with Rob, Pete and Man lyk Mo out here!! Following the news of the passing of Sean Connery we briefly discuss our favourite depictions of James Bond to start with. Here’s a quiz for the listeners, which incarnation of the super suave super spy is your fav. Mo then takes the hot seat and deals with an interesting hypothetical from Rob: If time travel is invented, would being able to go and see the crucifixion have a net negative or positive effect on Christianity? and Pete asks what Mo’s approach would be if dealing with someone who identifies as animesexual (Yep that’s an actual thing!).

We then go on to talk about a new Sky arts show that actually got cancelled not soon after it started due to one of the contestants having nazi related tattoos that were on display. Off of this we share our thoughts free speech and freedom of expression and the extent to which it should be defended despite how offensive or polarising it can be.

For our hookups,

Peter jumped in first with a new Netflix show called Blood of Zeus, check it out here https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81001988

Mo also suggested checking out the latest season of Tokyo Ghoul, have a watch here https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80023687

And Rob suggests an anime that has been suggested before Your lie in April available here https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80041089
