In this weeks episode we carry on with a look at this tragic occurrence that quite literally marked the end of perfection after the creation of man.

We carry on to consider a number of interesting ideas and concepts like why Adam agreed to eat the fruit and what the significance of the fig leaves used to fashion clothes could have been in view of Jesus cursing a fig tree in Mark 11…

The66 Ep007 The Fall

Most likely the next most significant and consequential event of the history of mankind after our creation was our fall!

In this week’s video we have a brief look at the beginnings of that fateful event.

We also take a closer look at some of the characters in this interaction, mostly the serpent, why was this animal describes as the most shrewd of all the animals and does that description give us an idea of why the serpent was the animal used by the devil.

In looking at this we also come across a technique that can be employed to find out the original meanings of the original words used in the bible.

Today we take a closer look at the creation of man and the circumstances surrounding and leading up to the creation of woman.

Genesis 1:2 – 2:3

Things just got interesting on the formless and void Earth and we’re witnessing the birth of the universe in today’s review.

We recognise that all cultures have some sort of creation mythology or story, we just happen to believe that of the Hebrew culture, which is what is recorded in the Bible.

In this episode we have a brief look at the creation story in general as it’s employed by most mythologies, the creation story of the Hebrews and the creation story our science and technology reveals to us today.

The66 Ep002 The Gap Theory

Genesis 1- 2
The great saga of the christian story starts with a war, one fought in the highest of places between the strongest of opponents besides God Himself.

In today’s episode we look at the first two verses of the bible and explore the idea that there might be a gap between them, we’ll take this opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the Greatest foe the christian has and, spoiler alert, his ultimate demise and destruction.

The66 Ep 01 Before the Beginning

If God plays by His own rules, then when He suggests, to the disciples, that they; “count the cost” of discipleship in Luke 14:28. He would count the cost of creation before doing so.

With that in mind we begin our Chronological study of the story of the Bible in earnest not with Genesis 1:1 but instead with an exploration of the board meeting where the God head come together to “Count the Cost” of creating the universe and ultimately mankind.

And in defining the cost we discover the value that God places on mankind and I think it’s truly a beautiful and inspiring thing to see.

The66 Ep B The Principles of Study

Welcome once more to The Sixty Six.

In today’s video we talk about a little something I call the Principles of Study, these are the guidelines that I use while studying and that will guide out study of the Story of the bible going forward.

Wow it’s finally happening.

The Sixty Six has been an idea that has been brewing away in my head for literally a couple of years now and I’m so incredibly glad to finally be able to bring it to you!
